Selling your Twitter Account
Tweetworth (http://tweetworth.com/) is a service that, based on the number of your followers, followings and tweets, gives you an estimate cost of your account. But hey, don’t take it too seriously, as that value is only a reference to the relevance you may have, currently there’s no way to see how much a twitter account is really worth.
Also, since this kind of services uses the number of followers as a part of the value, they can be tricked easily. Earlier this year you could buy followers on ebay for less than a cent, but of course, the majority of these accounts are bots, with no interaction at all.
Besides that, the truth is that there are some people monetizing their twitter accounts. There are sites like Assetize or Twittad where you can offer your twitter account to show some ads and get paid for that.
More interesting is when a company take interest on a twitter account, like what happen last year when @cnnbrk, that posts CNN breaking news, was acquired by CNN. But since selling an account is forbidden by twitter TOS (http://twitter.zendesk.com/forums/26257/entries/18370), the way CNN handle this was signing James Cox, @cnnbrk account creator, as a social media consultant for the company.
So if you’re interested on monetizing, now you have some options to do it. Let’s tweet!
