Matthew Charles Mullenweg, was born on January 11, 1984 in Houston, Texas. He did his schooling in Houston. Mullenweg graduated from the high school for the performing and visual arts in 2002. In June 2002 he joined the University of Houston. He started using b2cafelog blogging software to complement the pictures he was taking on a trip to Washington DC, after some time b2 stopped working. He started Wordpress with the help of Mike Little (from b2 base code) and Michael Valrighi (b2 developer). By the year 2004 he also founded ping- o- Matic. Later that year he moved to San Francisco where he joined CNET networks which he left in late 2005 to start his own company Automattic. He thus is an entrepreneur living in San Francisco, California.
